Formula Z was founded by teen makeup artist and entrepreneur, Zach Dishinger. At its core, Formula Z believes that makeup should be all-inclusive, empowering and a form of self-expression for everyone, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation or race.

Zach's Story

I grew up in theater, as the stage was my second home. As I got older, my love for acting soon turned into a passion for makeup. I felt a surge of confidence when getting ready for a show. With each swipe of my mascara wand, I felt more radiant, self-assured and alive.

I soon realized what I loved most about the theater was the art of transformation. When I put on makeup, being bullied for my sexual orientation and judged for my unconventional interests didn't matter anymore. Makeup was a part of me, and I decided to stay true to myself.

I was soon attempting to make cosmetics in my kitchen, mixing bronzers and lipsticks to create the perfect shades and textures. At 15 years old, I launched Formula Z Cosmetics.

Our first collection, 4Ever Lips, is a showcase of gorgeous, creamy, long-lasting, velvety-matte lipsticks while our newest line, Luxe Diamond Gloss, illuminates lips with lightweight shine that’s been super infused with decadent sparkle.

I pour my passion for products and my creativity as a makeup artist into each and every product, providing you with the best and most innovative formulas available. All Formula Z products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and gluten-free.

Transforming Beauty

My motivation is to show people that it’s okay to be themselves—and individuality is not only powerful but empowering. The ethos of Formula Z is rooted in purpose and giving back. Mission Z 4Ever Lips, one of my favorite shades, benefits The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people.

My hope is to inspire others to stay true to who they are, step out of their comfort zone, and to be unconditionally accepting.
